Lisa Silvestri

January 26, 1960 – December 30, 2023

Lisa Ann Silvestri entered eternal rest on December 30, 2023 after a brave thirteen month battle with a rare form of ocular melanoma. She is predeceased by her mother, Marie Dagro Silvestri. Survived by her loving father Joseph G. Silvestri, Jr, Siblings James J. Silvestri, Sr (Gayle) Susan M Silvestri (Ronnie) and David D Silvestri (Beata). Nieces: Rachel Silvestri, Lauren Deniger, Anna Silvestri Nephews: James J Silvestri, Jr., Adam Deniger, Michael Silvestri, and numerous cousins and friends. Born in New Orleans, attended Ursuline Academy, she briefly attended Loyola University before moving to New York City to attend Fashion Institute of Technology, attaining associate degrees in Applied Science of Fashion (1981) and Photography (1983). After graduation, she took residence in New York City, the center of the known Universe, freelancing in order to pursue her love of art and photography, having exhibits in Mexico City, New York and New Orleans. Lisa was beautiful, talented, hilarious, curious, kind, proud, sensitive, and caring, fiercely loving her family and her friends. She was a complex human and could be stubborn, yet true of heart. Her sense of style was impeccable. Her generosity was immense. She never met a stranger. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in those whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to your favorite cancer charity or ARNO (Animal Rescue New Orleans). Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124 was in charge of arrangements. The funeral service and burial were private.
